I’ve been so bad about posting! Not just here either…I’ve been a total slacker. But I am happy to report that the sequel to Sucks to Be Me is officially written! It’s with my editor now (next up: editorial revisions). Overall, I think I’m pretty happy with it right now though I’m sure Nina (my lovely editor) will help me make it even better.
Also, the paperback version of Sucks to Be Me is coming out on August 11th and it will have a sneak peek in the back of book 2!! Woot!
And the Spanish version is moving along though I don’t have an actual date yet. I just know that all of the contract stuff has gone through okay. 
In other, non-STBM news, I’ve got an idea for a new book. It’s a non-vampire book and I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in the beginning stages in my head. However, I’d love to hear some ideas for character names. In particular, I need two guy names. So, post your favorite guy names and tell me WHY they are your favorite. I’ll pick a winner or two (depending on how many submissions I get) after the end of July and give away your choice of a t-shirt or a signed hardcopy of Sucks to Be Me. You can even enter more than once if you like — as many good names as you can think of!

Edan; I love this one because it is just such a unique name and it means the little fiery one.
Ethan: Very common but means firm and strong. I always take it as firm and strong spritually or mentally. But never physically.
Paige/Page: Its a beautiful name that you wouldnt normally hear for a boy. But a boys name yet the same. It is unique.
Peace: A extremley unique name that one would never hear. Its meaning is exactly what you would think it is. I would always picture it as a calm collected boy who you could sit down and talk to and he would let you vent and give his input.
And I belive those are it

1 Abbott- A name I came across that struck me as an interesting name
2 Caleb- A name that I always think of when naming characters but have never used it
3 Edric- Very close to Elric like the Elric brothers in FullMetal Alchemist!
4 Nicholas- Nick Jonas’ real name (and its also my brothers name)
5 Tyshon- A kid on my brothers softball team whos name struck me as interesting
5 Kieren- A name I came across at a time and me and my friends all agreed it was a great name, however I never really used it for anything

Nicholas – Classic, nice name
Thomas – Again, a classic
Oliver – Something about it
Harper – I heard it and just the sound of it is nice I don’t know why
Nathan – One of my friends is named Nathan… I know you can’t use this name because you used it as one of your main characters in STBM, but I just thought I’d mention that I love it
Jamie (James) – I love it when guys can pull off more feminine-sounding names because once they can it sounds like a masculine name
Jared – I love the sound of it
Shia – I love Shia LaBeouf (what’s not to like?) plus it is unique
Anthony – Common but definitely has the potential to make a great character
Ty (Tyler) – I love the nickname Ty for some unknown reason, and my friend’s cousin, who is also my friend, is named Tyler
Gavin – I love Gavin DeGraw and his name is nice (I noticed I’ve been saying “nice’ a lot)
Connor – No idea why I like it
Lucas – I’m a huge One Tree Hill fan, so when I heard Chad Michael Murray’s character’s name it was the first time I ever heard it and something about it I just love
Owen – No idea
Sterling – Because I love Sterling Knight (don’t ask me why I love him so much I just do!)
Winslow – I read this name in a book (Words By Heart I think) and I just loved his character for some reason
Wes (Wesley) – No idea why
Quintin – very unique

Travis – A nice name, not too common, not too strange or anything
Ian – Just a nice name and it has a nice sound to it. The name is short and sweet
Tysun (also spelled Tyson) – One of my friends is named Tysun and I just love the name because I love him! He’s my one of my best friends!

Okay, so I love the name Kain. Its my son’s name and I just adore it. There are a million ways to spell it and its not a very popular name. I also like Dorian, Dade, Jude, and harper.

I like the names Riley and Ross because you don’t really ever find names like those. They’re different then the normal Joe or Bob.
Well I have a 2 and a half year old son who is already a huge fan of libraries (Daddy, want to go in libbarry!) I think the idea of telling him his awesome, rather unique name has been immortalized in a book would be pretty cool! He already has the largest collection of signed books in his age bracket:) His name is Brodie Jacob… and he even went to ALA this year! A librarian astronaut in the making!
For a second name, Ivan… its just a cool name that in these days of detente is ready for a comeback…
But really “Brodie” is the way to go, but it has to be spelled with the “ie”.

1. Amaury- it’s a strong name and, to me, implies mystery. I could also see it as a good name for a character that might have been at an awkward stage who is finally coming into himself.
2. Terric- It reminds me of “terrier,” someone who doesn’t give up and won’t back down.
3. Lethario- I have NO idea. I just like it.
4. Dakota- it can fit generally anyone.
5. James- This name has always seemed to imply nobility for me.

John – that is the name of my granddad he is my knight in shining armor! He is always there to rescue any one who needs it (expecaly his family)
Victor – if you add a ia you spell my name and it is my best friends name (my dog) but you know if you turn dog around you get GOD. GOD is always there for you and so is Victor.
I LOVE the name Tristan, when (or maybe the more appropriate IF) I ever have a son, I’d like to name him Tristan Kale. Which brings me to the other name, Kale. It’s just different, and kind of mysterious sounding, though I’m not sure if the character you are thinking of is mysterious.
I am also writing a book of my own, and I am using the names Carter, Porter, and Declan. I think they are more unique names, and when people say that name, I think they’ll be like “Oh, that guy from that one book!” Just like when people say ‘Edward’ they automatically think of ‘Twilight’. (more than one book can have those names, right? lol)
