Okay! It’s finally time to post the Still Sucks to Be Me Fan ARC Contest! I’ve reserved at least three advance copies of Still Sucks to Be Me not for reviewers or official-type people but purely for fans of the first book. Because I love you guys. Because you make writing worthwhile. Because you ROCK.
I’ve been trying to come up with a good contest. Some authors have fans do all kinds of crazy things (there was a cool one recently where the author had people post and do what the craziest thing they would do to get the book would be). So I decided to kind of take all those ideas and give you extra chances to win 
Here’s what you gotta do…pick as many items as you want from the following list to do. Each one you do gets you an entrie(s) to win. If you do all of ‘em? You get lots of entries to win! Of course, you still have a chance to win if you do only one of them. If you’ve already done any of the items below, just note it when you comment and I’ll still give you the entry point towards that item!
- Follow me on Twitter. Comment back with your Twitter ID so I can confirm. (1 point)
- Fan me on Facebook. (1 point)
- Friend me on MySpace. (1 point)
- Sign up for my fan newsletter (1 point)
- Create any kind of fan art based on the books! (3 points) A drawing, a computer collage, a song, a poem, absolutely anything! You can e-mail it to me at kim@kimberlypauley.com and let me know it is part of your contest entry. Shoot, if you want to create more than once piece of art? I’ll give you points for each! And if you do something incredible, I will award extra points!
- Create a video book review (or some kind of video fan art/performance) and upload it to YouTube with the tags: “Sucks to Be Me, Book, Kimberly Pauley” (3 points)
- Tell a teacher or librarian how excited you are for the book! (1 point) If they e-mail me to confirm (make sure they tell me your name) OR ask me for a FREE Reading Group Guide, you’ll get an extra point! (1 point)
- Do anything you can think of to get the word out about the books and tell me what you did (1 to 3 points, depending on the difficulty level)
To enter, do the item(s) and then comment back on this post and/or e-mail me as appropriate with what you did. I’ll tally up all the points at the end of March and the winners will have the book in the first part of April! (Unless you guys would like me to cut the contest shorter…until March 15th? Then you’d have the book by the end of March, but you wouldn’t have as much time to get entries in…so your choice…comment and let me know!) UPDATE: The consensus seems to be March 15th! So I’ll end the contest then!
The contest is open to anyone, anywhere. Entrants under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian confirm they can accept the prize if they win.

Basically, what I’ll be doing is I have a spreadsheet and a person’s name will be entered in it once for each entry they have. So if you’ve got 2 entries, then your name will be in there twice. If you get 10 entries/points, your name will be in there 10 times. The more times you are in there, the better a chance you have at winning (think of it like a lottery ticket. Kind of.). Then I use the randomizer function in the spreadsheet to pick the winners. Make sense?
You could always draw a picture! (option 5) If you can’t figure out how to email it, you could even snail mail it to me, it’d just have to get here by the end of the contest

I am your fan on facebook, I am your friend, I am Signed up for your fan newsletter. I am making two posters one to hang up in our local library and the other at a girl scout event that is coming up(a lot of people will see it, it is a big event). I am also making buttons to hand out to get the word out about the books. I am making a video book review. I am making a shirt for me and my mom that will say how excited we are about Still Sucks to Be Me and how much we loved Sucks to Be Me. I am going to write on my mom’s and my car to show everyone how excited I am about the book(don’t worry it will wash off). We will keep it on for a whole week. I am also making cupcakes that will get the word out about the books. They will be red velvet cupcakes with white icing and two red dots that will look like bite makes, and a toothpick with a piece of paper in them that will tell about the book. I am going to give them out at Stone Soup Books and Cafe(it is a local mom and papa book store that is very popular here.) I will email you pictures of everything this monday(day after girl scout event.) I might also do some other things. If I do I will email you what I did when I send the Pictures.

Hi, I handed out some of the extra stickers I got from you to some of my friends for advertising purposes. They all thought the bat was cute! I also got one of my moms friends to buy her daughter the book by telling her how good it was. I was in the bookstore the other day and I noticed a mother trying to get her daughter to pick out a book, and when they mentioned STBM I jumped into their conversation (eavesdropper
) and persuaded them to buy the book.

hi, i just made another video for STBM. Its a casting video its not very long but I thought it was a good way to express how I viewed my fav characters

Right now I’m trying to get my friends to start reading and by beginning with your book is the first step! (Though it’s definitely challenging – a total understatement, I’m doing my best to get them to try).
Which kind of means I haven’t gotten a book club together, sadly. I really wish to get those stuff for the Reading Group Guide though…
