So, remember how I lost that bet? The Kentucky Derby one? That I have with Brian Farrey, Catherine Ryan Hyde, and Andrew Smith? Okay, not as miserably as I lost it last year (heck, I beat Catherine and Brian this year), but still a loss. So I had to write a short story. This year, Andrew gave me my title: The Flat-Tire Man.
Which you’d think would be an easier title than what Catherine gave me last year (Uncle Mo’s Gastrointestinal Tract) but this year I didn’t have much time to devote to it. And I had three false starts. Then, this past Wednesday, I pushed through and finished the darn thing because I thought that yesterday was the 1st of June.
Yeah, I don’t know what day it is. Generally. Kind of a side effect of working at home, I guess. Or maybe it’s just me.
Anyway, The Flat-Tire Man is done. And it’s been duly posted on the actual first of June. You can go read it now.
I’ll link to everyone else’s stories once I know what the links are. Enjoy! Who knows, maybe next year I’ll actually win…
