This is for you, all of you who have written me and emailed me and commented and tweeted and sent up smoke signals (or whatever else you’ve done) asking whether or not there is going to be a third Mina book. I can finally answer you.
Yes.
I am going to write it. For you.
I’m not writing it because it’s the best business decision to do so but because I want to do this for Mina’s fans and (for me) because I want to finish Mina’s story. At this point, I’m not sure whether or not I’ll be self-publishing it (for those of you who don’t know, the original publisher is no longer publishing non-D&D books…you can read that whole story here), but THERE WILL BE A BOOK. It may only be available as an ebook (which would mean Kindle, Nook, etc.) but there’s a possibility there will be a physical book. I am still exploring options.
And you know what? I want YOUR help with this book. I am going to be posting questions for you to answer as I’m writing. YOU will have a direct impact on this story (down to the title!) and even the direction it takes. I’m creating a special new category on my website called Help Write Sucks to Be Me Three and I’ll include a link to it in each question I post so that you can always go back and provide input on any questions you have missed.
Here’s what you should do:
- If you haven’t read it already, read the short story / first chapter of the third book. I’m planning on keeping that beginning, with some modifications.
- Sign up for my newsletter (unless you’re already a member) because some of the questions I’ll be posting I will ONLY be asking subscribers. Don’t worry, I’m not going to drown you in emails. Besides, newsletter subscribers will have an early chance to read the book…
- Follow me on Twitter too or “Like” me on Facebook. I’ll be posting things there as well.
- Do you have friends who’ve read the first two books and are interested in the third book? Please send them this post so they’ll know about what’s going on. Heck, tell your friendly local librarian too. Writing groups. Book clubs.
I’ll be posting the first question TODAY.
And, in case I haven’t mentioned it enough before, I love you guys. You are why I write (it’s obviously not for the money LOL). I really hope you’ll enjoy this story and that you’ll have fun helping shape it. And by the way, I would LOVE love LOVE it if you also went out and bought a copy of Cat Girl’s Day Off. Don’t tell Mina, but I think Nat is even funnier. And there’s a snarkalicious pink cat. Total bonus.

Great. I’ll most certainly buy Mina’s third book, no matter what form it takes. I do hope there can be a physical book, as it deserves a place on my shelf, even if your original publisher doesn’t think so.

I’ll put my two cents worth of support behind this request too, but for a very different reason. I love my Kindle, would not be without it… however, I own the first two Sucks To Be Me volumes in hardcover, and would love to shelve the third beside them.
