In the second book, Mina learned a bit about both shapeshifting and mentalism (mind control). She’ll likely keep up her studies on those things…and at least one other skill that I’m planning on having her learn. BUT…is there anything YOU think she should learn next? Or something to do with either shapeshifting or mentalism that she should be learning in her continuing education classes? Like “advanced” lessons?
And There’s More!
Go here for a complete list of previous posts about Book Three, including the how and why, the schedule, and the questions I’ve posted so far. And please feel free to go back and comment on any past posts if you’ve missed a question!
P.S. Have you checked out my latest book yet? If you liked Sucks to Be Me, you’ll love Cat Girl’s Day Off!

I think she should learn to use super speed because it only makes sense. In Twilight, Edward and his family has super speed. In my babysitter’s a Vampire, Sarah, Erica, and Rory have super speed. It’s like a vampire legend to have vampires that have super speed. So I totally think Cameron should come back and teach her how to do it because it wouldn’t make any sense for George to teach her because he is so caught up in work and along the way she starts to fall more and more in love with him! Not only that, but I think they should do it behind George’s back and not tell him and George should start to question Mina’s feelings for him. I would love it if she put that in the book!
hum… I think maybe she should learn how to hunt animals!! And/Or walk on walls and ceilings…That would be awesome!! And, I agree with the hole Cameron teaching not George thing that Milena Suggested… Oh well, you’ll be the judge of that!!
Love xxx

I think that would be so cool if she learned to walk on walls and stuff. It would be like a different version of Twilight. I bet it would be very handy when she is tracking the Black Talons.
I did talk about her Mom being able to do the wall walking thing in the first book. That might be a handy thing to learn!
Do you think you could tell us all, when you plan for the book to come out?
I expanded on this in another comment, but I’d like for the book to come out by the end of the year. Not sure if it’ll happen or not, but that is what I’m trying for!
I would like for her to learn fighting skills just to make sure she up for anything.
Self-defense skills would be good to learn, but I don’t think it would be as good as the Black Talons!
I think that Mina should learn more mentalism, maybe even telekinesis (if vampires could do that? seems possible..) or mind reading, in addition to advancing the mind control of suggestion. It would also be interesting to see more of the shape-shifting (to disguise herself when tracking down the Black Talons and Astrid). Just a few ideas.
Wouldn’t the Black Talons know the difference between an animal and a shape-shiftier. Aren’t Black Talons suppose to know a lot more stuff about being a vampire. The second book defiantly proved that!
I’m having so much fun reading all these! Especially since I was already planning some of this…
I’d like to know when the next question will be posted? I’m literally checking the website everyday, just to see if another question is posted.:)
I’m posting one question a week on Mondays
Do you think you can make it twice a week? The sooner you post questions the sooner the book finishes right.
Actually, how often I post the questions doesn’t really have a big impact on how long it will take for me to finish the book. It’s all about sitting down and writing it! Right now I”ve got something I have to finish up really quick before really getting into book three (though it has been started). Book three is pretty well plotted out now (though the answers you guys give do change some things). I don’t write on weekends, because that is family time. On writing days, I get in between 1000 and 2000 words. The book will likely wind up around at least 70,000 words and possibly closer to 80,000. Max is out of school after this week, which will put a crimp on my writing time until he is back in September. We’ve also got visitors coming for a week this month and a week’s holiday in Kenya this month, so I don’t anticipate a lot of writing getting done during that time. It’s going to take a while to write, obviously. If I did exactly 1000 words a day and said it was going to be a 75,000 word book, that would be 75 days. Remember the weekends off and the fact that not every day I get any writing done (though some days I get more than 1000 words) due to “real life” … And then, after it’s written, I’ve got to have an editor go through it…then make the editorial changes after that…then cover and internal design…so it is going to be a bit. I’d really LOVE to get it all done and out by the end of the year. That’s my goal. I know it seems like a long time, but there are lots of things that have to happen.
Dont go too crazy or cliche! But id she IS going to learn something new, then give her some sort of adrenaline abillity, not permanent super speed or strength, but some sort of temporary boost, at a cost. Something realistic!
No offence Loic Cremer, but there is nothing realistic about a vampire book! By the way, what’s the fun in reading a fiction book with something as boring as a temporary boost? It’s like talking about a flashlight that has dead batteries in it,it has no use and is worthless.Come on,have some imagination. They call it fictional for a reason, not to mention how fantasy is known for the characters having supernatural powers.:0
Oh, I dunno. You’ve got to have limits or the characters have nothing to struggle against. Books have to have conflict or there’s no story — if Mina were all-powerful and all-knowing, then nothing would really happen
Like she’s got a shapeshifting ability, but it’s restricted by whether she’s had enough sustenance (blood) and concentration/talent.
My point to Loic Cremer, was that it’s a fiction book and it’s supose to be unrealistic. I agree that there has to be conflict with whatever you decide to chose, but a temporary boost is not it.
I didn’t mean to sound like I was traing to censor or cage Mina’s abilities, but I think that if your powers are limitless they’re boring, maybe it’s different in your mind, but I think their should be a cap on whatever power she has to at least make it so it can both help AND cause trouble, otherwise it`s mary sue-ism, a deadly sin in writting.
i think she should continue both shape-shifting and mind control, but focus a lot on mind control so she can improve
I think Mina should get to learn all of the cool things about vampires that make us want to be like them! Super speed, the ability to walk on walls, ceilings, and whatever they please, as well as the ability to jump super high and far. It would be great to see how Mina goes through all of these new expeirences. She should have limitations and something to push against though because then there is always the chance of her “powers” malfunctioning due to lack of moonlight (werewolf cliche) or lack of blood in her system.
Sorry its been awhile was on vacation and didn’t have access to a computer (ughhh lol). anyways….I think mina should def. continue with advance lessons with shapeshifting but maybe cameron continues to help her with the mind part. That was if you decide mina should end up with cameron then she has that was of being with him, and it isn’t just a big and mina ran off with cameron sort of thing. Even if she stays with George maybe george won’t mind/know that mina is taking lessons. maybe she gets them while he is working for dr. musty. I don’t think mina needs to focus on anything else really because she is already strong, fast, etc….maybe she will learn how to cook food, not trying to make it sound like just cuz she’s a girl she needs to know how to cook kind of thing, but just so she knows how to make blood food/non blood food for the “mortals” lol.
Oh the cooking thing sounds kind of fun — maybe something she could do with her Mom…
Maybe it could be something like powers of persuasion, only more… umm literal? Make her able to convince people to do what they want… it could be handy when going after the Black Talons.
I think she should get invisibility!! But it would only work for a short time, like 15 minutes at first, but then she’ll learn to hold it longer? Don’t know, I just thought invisibility would be cool!!!!!!
i agree thatd b cool
I think her fam should enroll her in fighting. It would be cool if they are young but fight good. Also wall walking and maybe learn how to talk 2 serena…… without a phone
Maybe canadia! Something new
I think that she test her strength. Learn how powerful she really is. Also I think that she should learn to walk on walls/ceilings.
Maybe shapeshifting into animals, like big dogs or something. I don’t know. And walking on walls/ceilings would be cool, too. And maybe reading people’s minds? Score.
I think that she should learn just how to be a vampire in genral
I think she should be able to paralyze people with her mind. You know just almost make them just stop, kinda like what jane does, or make them have no senses at all. Like make her be able to compeltly cut off somebodys senses.
Mina could learn how to “hurt” people from a distance. You know, so it looks like they’re faking, but she actually did it…
Hey, she’s in France, so she should start up parkour. It originated in France, so why not? Plus, walking on walls can be pretty useful as a free-runner.
And think of all the epic fight scenes between Mina and the Black Talons there could be taking place on the sides of the Eiffel Tower…
I think that Mina should learn how to become invisible, and find out that she is one of the “special cases” and has telekenisis (sorry if I misspelled that)
