Since my publisher was so nice as to send me a bunch more ARCs, I’m also doing a giveaway on Goodreads for 8 copies. So far 372 people have signed up for it which is cool! The giveaway ends on March 30th, so get your entry in if you’re a member of GoodReads!

In other news, looks like my Spanish publisher has also picked up Still Sucks to Be Me! I have no idea when it will be out, but it’ll be out in Spanish sometime! Woot!

So, whaddaya think of my brand-spankin’ new website courtesy Design Ng? There’s still a few content-y things I need to update (like the Q&A page…hey, you have any new questions for me??), but for the most part, we’re there! Love to hear your thoughts!!

Here’s the official description:

The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books is a free community-wide event organized by the UW-Waukesha Foundation in cooperation with community groups that include the Waukesha County Federated Library System, the Waukesha Public Library, the Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha and Martha Merrell’s Bookstore. The Festival will be held June 18-19, 2010 at the UW-Waukesha campus.

The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books has as its mission an affordable, intergenerational event that promotes creativity and literacy by supporting local and national authors with community exposure and opening a dialogue on how the arts and written word in all genres help shape our present and future. It will feature hundreds of local and national authors presenting sessions about their work, including an area dedicated to Children’s and Young Adult authors and activities. The Festival will also be home to an exhibition of authors, publishers and book sellers as well as Taste of the Festival featuring food from local restaurants.

Other special features include:

Book signings and readings
A cooking stage featuring cooking demonstrations and cookbook
Performance stages for live music and drama
Art Fair and Exhibit featuring local artists
Special programming

Yay! My web designer person (who happens to be my lovely cousin, Doug) is back from vacation, so my new website is coming! That also means I won’t be posting for a day or two while we get stuff moved over. If you’re entering the Still Sucks to Be Me ARC contest, please both comment AND email me to make sure I get your entries. Hopefully everything will move over successfully, but it *is* technology and we know how that can go…so just to be on the safe side, be sure to email stuff too. Still Sucks to Be Me Fan ARC Contest! (Ends March 15th!!)

Okay! It’s finally time to post the Still Sucks to Be Me Fan ARC Contest! I’ve reserved at least three advance copies of Still Sucks to Be Me not for reviewers or official-type people but purely for fans of the first book. Because I love you guys. Because you make writing worthwhile. Because you ROCK.

I’ve been trying to come up with a good contest. Some authors have fans do all kinds of crazy things (there was a cool one recently where the author had people post and do what the craziest thing they would do to get the book would be). So I decided to kind of take all those ideas and give you extra chances to win

Here’s what you gotta do…pick as many items as you want from the following list to do. Each one you do gets you an entrie(s) to win. If you do all of ‘em? You get lots of entries to win! Of course, you still have a chance to win if you do only one of them. If you’ve already done any of the items below, just note it when you comment and I’ll still give you the entry point towards that item!

Fan me on Facebook. (1 point)
Friend me on MySpace. (1 point)
Sign up for my fan newsletter (1 point)
Create any kind of fan art based on the books! (3 points) A drawing, a computer collage, a song, a poem, absolutely anything! You can e-mail it to me at kim@kimberlypauley.com and let me know it is part of your contest entry. Shoot, if you want to create more than once piece of art? I’ll give you points for each! And if you do something incredible, I will award extra points!
Create a video book review (or some kind of video fan art/performance) and upload it to YouTube with the tags: “Sucks to Be Me, Book, Kimberly Pauley” (3 points)
Tell a teacher or librarian how excited you are for the book! (1 point) If they e-mail me to confirm (make sure they tell me your name) OR ask me for a FREE Reading Group Guide, you’ll get an extra point! (1 point)
Do anything you can think of to get the word out about the books and tell me what you did (1 to 3 points, depending on the difficulty level)

I’ll tally up all the points at the end of March and the winners will have the book in the first part of April! (Unless you guys would like me to cut the contest shorter…until March 15th? Another review for Still Sucks to Be Me!

Teens Read? gave me a lovely little review of Still Sucks to Be Me which means a lot to me because I think it might be the first review I’ve gotten from actual teens for the book so far! The other reviews I’ve seen are all from older readers (I think. Am pretty sure. Sometimes it can be hard to tell. ). Of course, I haven’t seen too many reviews yet, since the release date is still a while away, but each one is exciting!

Must I spell it out for you? I simply loved it. It was hilarious. I found it even funnier then the first book, (but then again, there was more cause for laughter in this book) (ie cow pie crown)… read the rest of their review…
