Still Sucks to Be Me…Even in Paris

Still Sucks to Be Me...Even in Paris

This may or may not be the final cover…tell me what you think!

Mina was more than happy to put the drama of Cartville, LA behind her. For once, the Vampire Relocation Agency (VRA) seems to be on her side; she’s moving to Paris, France with her family and her boyfriend George. She even makes a new friend on the flight over. But as soon as she arrives in Paris, she quickly learns that old enemies die hard. How far is she willing to go for a new friend? And what about old friends?

Frequently Asked Questions

VERY IMPORTANT: I manage my newsletter through Vertical Response. After you sign up, they will auto-generate a verification email. YOU MUST RESPOND to this to get the newsletter. If you have issues signing up, please read this post. Thanks!

This is different. Wasn’t it every two weeks before no matter what?

Yep, it was. But I found that more people were reading than voting and quite a few people were having issues getting the newsletter. Also, as noted below, I’m writing this in my spare time inbetween other writing commitments which means I’m not going to write it if people aren’t reading it (I’ve got other things to do!). So I’ve changed it up a little — new chapters will only be released after a certain number of people have voted on the next action. I’m also posting ALL the currently available chapters as a link right from this page (above), though newsletter subscribers will still get some things early and extra stuff.

Can I send the chapters to other people?

Yes, please do. Spread the word! The more people reading, the more people voting, the faster the chapters will come out.

You’re seriously going to write what we tell you to?

Um, yep. That said, I’m not allowing write-in votes so there aren’t going to be any “Mina meets an alien, falls in love, and moves to Mars” plot lines going on. I’ll give you a few possible directions that you can vote on. I’ve already taken into consideration the feedback people have given to questions I previously posted.

Is this really free?

Yep. When the entire thing is done, I’ll get it all nicely formatted, spruce up the cover image I made, perhaps a spot of copy editing…and put it up as an eBook (Kindle, Nook, etc.) and possibly also as a “real” physical book as well (depending on interest) and everyone will have an opportunity to purchase it in it’s final form.

Is there anything I can do to support this?

Absolutely! 1) Tell everyone you know about it and get them to sign up too, if they want to read the story. 2) Vote as early as you can, so I can get started writing as soon as I can. 3) I’d love it if you buy a copy of any of my current books out for sale (especially Cat Girl’s Day Off). Any sales do help. :) Seriously.

What do I need to do now?

If you haven’t already, go sign up for the newsletter RIGHT NOW. Also, participate on my Facebook Fan Page where I’ll be posting questions and things during the “writing” time. And tell people. Then, when it’s time, VOTE. I’ll be gauging participation by the number of subscribers, the number of people who click through to read the chapters, and the number of people who vote.

Are there any catches?

Yes. While I’m not expecting mass floods of people signing up for the third Sucks to Be Me book, I’m also not going to keep writing it if there’s only like 10 people reading it (and yes, I can tell how many people open up newsletter emails and click on links…ah, the wonders of the Internet!). As much as I’d love those 10 people for following the story, I’ve got lots of other things I could be working on. So, please do spread the word. Share! Tweet! Shout it from the roof tops!
